CDM Recruitment Limited pledge their Support to Lighthouse, the Construction Industry Charity

CDM Recruitment Ltd has started 2019 on a positive note by pledging their financial backing to Lighthouse, the construction industry charity.

Mark Bulmer, Co-founder of CDM Recruitment Ltd explains why CDM decided to sign up as a Company Supporter to the Lighthouse;

“I was first introduced to Lighthouse through our role as headline sponsor of Constructing Excellence North East. Lighthouse provide invaluable support to workers across the Construction industry through their range of services, access to advice and financial support. CDM are looking forward to working closely with Lighthouse to raise awareness of their work and promote their services to the thousands of construction workers CDM staff interact with each year. We particularly want to support Lighthouse in their work addressing the issue of mental health within the Construction Industry, an issue which continues to have a serious impact on construction workers on a daily basis. Upon registration all CDM workers will be provided with information regarding the help and support available to them, including the Lighthouse helpline and App. It’s vital that workers are aware of the support readily available to them and more importantly, how to access it. We also intend to train a number of mental Health First Aiders within CDM to further improve our support to mental health related issues. ”

Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity said, “With two construction workers taking their own life every day, we desperately need the support of the industry to help us make a difference. With the support of companies like CDM, we can sustain our helpline services and develop our building mental health programme. By committing to an annual donation they are enabling us to plan ahead and continue to provide a vital lifeline to our construction families in need and we can’t thank them enough”.
