Adoptions Manager – Darlington – Civil Engineering Contractor
We are seeking an Adoptions Manager to work for a well-known and established regional civil engineering sub-contractor covering the North East of England.
Our client has a turnover circa 40 Million per annum and has on average 36 live projects at any one time generally between the A1 and A19 corridor. The company specialises in Roads and Sewers, Infrastructure Works, Land Remediation, Earthworks and Sub-structure works including foundations, drainage, external works and Hard landscaping mainly for new build housing developers.
The role will entail representing the organisation in a client facing role securing the Adoption and handover of the projects to the external stakeholders such as the local council, Northumbria Water etc whereby they take over the ongoing maintenance contract of the newly built assets. In order for the handover to take place you will be liaising directly with the stakeholder representatives ie Clerk of Works discussing the snagging lists and remedial works that need to be completed to enable the full handover of the project and final sign off.
You will be expected to manage around 12 direct members of staff that will be undertaking the works that need completing prior to handover such as adjustments and improvements to roads, surfacing, kerbing, drainage, sewers, lifting iron work, and public walkways. The ideal applicant would have vast experience working for a civil engineering contractor which has roads, sewers, plot works, groundworks etc before and that has worked their way up from the tools to a supervisory or manager capacity and hold a CSCS card (essential) and SSSTS SMSTS or NRSWA qualification (preferable). Applicants must have very strong communication skills, be IT proficient in the use of MS Office software and have experience of managing direct construction staff.
