Civil Engineering Technical Manager – Leeds – Salary Negotiable
My client here is looking to increase their engineering capabilities by appointing an Engineering Manager to cover the Northern operational area of the business, working alongside a counterpart covering the South. This role will report directly in to a Board Director.
A key aspect of the role is to support the approach to temporary works by co-ordinating training, appointing colleagues to the role of temporary works co-ordinator and working with operational colleagues to ensure required standards are met. The role will also include providing expert support to operational teams, conducting regular audits to identify areas for improvement or best practice.
In addition to these duties you will also work with internal stakeholders on a range of engineering initiatives covering sustainable construction, BIM and standard products as well as supporting internal graduate programmes. You will represent the company externally, attending and contributing to industry forums and similar bodies.
The ideal candidate will:
– Be a professionally qualified engineer (preferably CEng) or someone approaching this level in their career
– Be experienced working in both a design and construction environment.
– Have a background in civil engineering, although other sectors can be considered.
This client is a leading civil engineering and construction company mainly operating within the water industry. This is a fast growing business with over 250 new people joining the team in 2016 and further increase planned for 2017. Investing in employees is a priority with over 1m spent on training and development last year.
