Job Description

The Asset Engineering Team, an established group responsible for the maintenance and modification of existing Plant and Laboratory Equipment, is seeking a highly skilled time served and motivated individual to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct routine maintenance tasks in adherence to agreed schedules, meticulously recording all results in the appropriate system, and promptly reporting any anomalies. Take ownership of maintenance activities, modifications, and calibration for existing facilities, working in alignment with plant demands and equipment specifications. Maintain detailed records through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
•Respond promptly to breakdown conditions, working efficiently to minimize downtime. Collaborate with the Lead Engineer and Asset Engineering Team to achieve high levels of availability and plant integrity.
•Conduct engineering installation and support activities safely and in accordance with site requirements. Organise and execute plant engineering activities in a timely manner.
•Assist in the instruction and training of apprentices.

Requirements:
•Education to HNC level (or equivalent), or above (Degree Level) in an electrical or instrumentation subject.
•Hands-on craft skills with proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance activities.
•Ability to interpret engineering diagrams, schematics, and PID’s. Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings and designing extensions to electrical installations is essential, with knowledge of process P&ID drawings being desirable.
•Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to logically trace faults to their root cause and identify steps to repair the problem.
•Knowledge and experience of hazardous area installations.

Desirable Skills:
•Compex (ATEX inspection) training.
•Experience with DCS systems.
•Knowledge of semi-tech or R&D facilities.
•Experience with low-pressure steam systems, process gases, pumps, and valves.
•Qualification for Portable Appliance Testing.

Hours:
Monday-Thursday 8-430, Friday 8-4.
