HSE Manager – South Yorkshire – Up to 45,000 + package
We have a great opportunity for an experienced HSE Manager to join a growing company in South Yorkshire. New plans are in place to double both the turnover (currently 10m) and headcount of the company over the next three years. Based in Chesterfield, most sites are within 1hr of the office, with exceptions for out of area work for key clients sporadically, which you would be expected to cover over a two week period. The companys principle market is housing, typically doing all the roads, sewers and groundworks for housing contractors in the area.

The role:

Hours: 08:00 – 17:30 (longer hours required depending on work demands)
Location: Based out of Chesterfield
Weekend work or living away: None
Health & Safety team: Sole Health & Safety Advisor
Reporting: Directly to Managing Director

Responsibilities:

– To oversee health & safety on all company operations
– Conduct site visits to monitor all projects and report to the Managing Director on a fortnightly basis
– Enforce and write new policies
– Write risk assessments and Method Statements
– Work with site and office staff to ensure everyone is fully educated on the latest Health & Safety legislation.

The ideal candidate:

– Health & Safety experience within Civil Engineering, particularly Roads & Sewers
– NEBOSH & IOSH qualified
– Personable and approachable, able to speak with all team members from both colleagues and clients

Remuneration:

Base: 40,000 – 45,000
Car Allowance: 4,500 per annum
Fuel: 0.23 per mile (business)
Pension: 5% matched
Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus up to 10%
