Our client a Civil Engineering principle Contractor is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Site based Commercial Manager to work on a major civils project in the Ipswich area.
The contractor has a turnover in excess of 800 Million per annum, has a forward order book in excess of 1 Billion and employs over 2,000 direct staff UK wide and has a strong reputation in Maine, energy and environmental, Rail infrastructure, highways and airport civil engineering.
We are seeking an experienced principle contractor Managing Surveyor Commercial Manager with ideally extensive NEC3 Option C contract experience that has been the lead on civils projects worth minimum 25 Million in value and a track record of managing 3 or more quantity surveyors.
This role is based in Ipswich area of Suffolk, the project has just over 1 year left and comprises of RC concrete structures, marine gate installations, sheet pilling, dredging, general landside civils and the construction of a control building. Our client is seeking ideally a permanent employee due to the sheer level of future projects in the South-East region of England however they would consider a longer term freelance or contract member of staff to oversee the Ipswich project with the possible opportunity to be retained in a permanent capacity or moved to an alternative project in the region thereafter.
The general hours of the site are 08:00 till 18:00 Monday to Friday. The Role offers a very competitive salary or day rate + benefits. The contractor has considerable work in the region and is confident you will be moved onto similar large marine civils projects at the end of this project late 2018.
