Position: Plater
Location: Richmond, DL10
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and analyse detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Select, measure, and mark materials according to project requirements.
Operate cutting and shaping machinery, such as plasma cutters, saws, and shears.
Utilize various tools and equipment to shape and form steel plates.
Weld, assemble, and fabricate steel components using different welding techniques.
Ensure accurate dimensions and alignment of steel plates and components.
Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure adherence to specifications.
Collaborate closely with the welding team and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and advancements in steel fabrication.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Plater or similar role in the structural steel industry.
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Solid knowledge of steel fabrication techniques, cutting, shaping, and assembly processes.
Competent in operating various cutting and shaping machinery and tools.
Strong welding skills and expertise in different welding techniques.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with others.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Commitment to safety standards and practices.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Education and Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Certification in welding or relevant field is preferred.

Days shifts and Back shifts. 6am – 2pm (£16 – £18 DOE) and 2:30pm to 11pm (£18 – £20 ph DOE)
