Job Description

Large principal civil engineering project with a large order book within the North are looking for a Project Manager with a civil engineering background to work on projects between 1m – 20m throughout the north of England (North West, Yorkshire and North Midlands).
First project will be in the North Midlands / South Cheshire region working on a 15+m Steel & Concrete structure.

This well-known principal contractor on based in the North West work on projects ranging from 1m – 20m on civil engineering projects including: Highways, Infrastructure, RC structures, Windfarms among some of the many projects they undertake.

Job:
The candidate will have a proven record of being able to run large schemes from the pre planning phase to the close of final accounts.
Due to the size of projects the candidate will be able to negotiate with and deliver all programs of works to the client with a technical and commercial management.

Maintain good relationships with Client, and Suppliers at all levels.
Ensure integrated solutions are developed for projects, whilst aligning proposals with the Delivery Strategy for the job.
Responsible for contract and supplier management through the phases of civil construction, installation and commissioning on site.
Ensuring, in conjunction with the Design Manager, that an adequate Technical, Safety and Environmental review is carried out for each project
Understanding and implementing the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets
Control of site economy, budgets and resourcing requirements
Ensure CAPEX and optimisation of CAPEX during construction phase
Ensure the execution of the technical solution
Management of the site organisation who ensure that staff and suppliers fulfil requirements like HSE conditions, quality, time, CDM and capex.
Implement regulatory approvals and applications for the execution and operation phases
Responsible for documentation and monthly reporting concerning the site including claims handling
Being aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers perception and satisfaction
Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance

Experience:
BSc Civil Engineering or relevant qualifications
