Overview:
A medium sized civil engineering Company that operate within the North West (Stockport) and have multiple divisions that cover all aspects of the industry. From this they are requiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on heavy civil engineering projects that include: pre cast concrete structures, deep drainage etc. within the utilities sector.
Job:
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage all costing from conception to the completion of the final account. You will be looking after the minimization of cost on the project while achieving the highest standard and quality.
This role will require you working on various sites across the North West. Throughout the duration of the project you will be in charge of all variations to the contract which will effect costs and create reports to show the profitability of the project.
Responsibilities:
Establish and manage all post contract commercial and procurement
systems and procedures. Develop organisation, training and
communications accordingly.
Responsible for risk management, commencing with review of tender
documentation.
Work with senior managers to plan, forecast and subsequently report
project commercial performance.
Consolidate individual contract reports into monthly management
accounts, working with finance department.
Forecast and manage cash flow through submission and agreement of
applications and final accounts.
Work with senior management to maximise commercial benefit of all
contracts and effectively manage contract variations.
Establish procedures to meet required standards (internal and external).
Develop partnership initiatives with customers and suppliers.
Ensure the necessary expertise is available to support dispute
management efforts with clients and sub-contractors.
Ensure commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts are managed from
procurement to interim and final account agreement. Support
development of Sub-Contractor and Major Supplier Contract Agreements.
Maintain functional (commercial) communications with Group.
Experience:
Relevant qualification
Minimum 7 years experience
