Job Description

My client is looking for a steel erector who can join their team as a Team Lead. They are a structural steel fabrication company with a workshop based in Barnard Castle. The structures are fabricated on site in BC and then transported to site where they would be erected by a team of installers for the client.

The right candidate would need to hold a valid drivers license, a CSCS Card, IPAF and telehandler qualifications.

They would be in charge of the day to day running of the 2 -3 man team, the build and some communication with the client on site.

Experience as a steel erector is essential.

Team Lead is in charge of the rallying of the troops on a Monday morning by driving to pick up points before driving down to the job which could be local or nationwide.

Often stopping away from home Monday through to Friday, digs are paid for by the client and they also endeavour to provide the best accommodation they can. Lodges or suites so when you’re not working, you can rest in a comfortable environment. £25 per night away is also paid at the start of the week so that you can buy food and drink when away.

The basic rate of the role is £13.50 which is subject to review after 6 months with the company, 3 months on temp and 3 months on perm.
