Job Description
STRUCTURAL TECHNICIAN/SENIOR STRUCTURAL TECHNICIAN
Do you want to work for local company who are working on a number of high-profile and technically challenging projects?
As a Technician you will provide expert revit modelling and AutoCAD support to the structural engineering team on a wide range of projects to accurately illustrate engineering design solutions.
If you have sufficient experience in Revit and AutoCAD and can bring proven BIM capability to the team we want to speak with you. Above all, you will be inquisitive and motivated to learn about technology, and passionate about finding ways to enhance the teams technical capability.
Naturally, the responsibilities of a Technician are highly varied but will typically comprise:
Revit modeling/AutoCAD : Drawing detail production from Engineers sketches and from scratch using architectural drawings and or concepts.
Working with the engineers to understand and foresee problems within a design and to work with the team to resolve the design and detailing problems.
Take responsibility for drawing issues and daily housekeeping in terms of both digital and hard copy project file storage.
Responsible for ensuring delivery of drawing work to agreed project programmes, whilst meeting commercial targets.
Develop concept ideas into drawing details.
Strong customer focus.
Using a range of in-house systems to ensure that revit models are effectively developed to internal standards.
To work on own initiative and as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
Mentor apprentice technicians.
Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Additional requirements include:
Able to demonstrate a capability of problem solving and understanding of the wider engineering context of your drawings.
Experience with reinforced concrete GAs, detailing and schedules.
Experience of producing structural steelwork GAs and understanding details.
Good general knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
Good communication skills, experience in working as an integral member of project teams and delivering to external clients.
Sound computer and IT skills; use of Microsoft Office software essential.
HNC, HND or equivalent qualification with good numeracy and literacy skills.
Achieved or working towards EngTech registration
