CDM Life Sciences are delighted to be recruiting for exciting opportunity which has arisen with our global client for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated team passionate about animal welfare.
Our client is a leading contract research organisation, committed to the improving the health and well-being of animals. They are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team.
As a Clinical Veterinary Surgeon at you will play a vital role in providing high-quality surgical services to our patients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in small animal surgery, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate and professional veterinary care.
•Acting as a deputy Named Veterinary Surgeon in accordance with the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, you will provide clinical care services to the broad range species at our site in Tranent.
•As a laboratory animal veterinarian, you are the advocate for the animals, you will use your clinical and interpersonal skills to ensure delivery of the highest standards of welfare, ethical consideration, and compliance in association with the Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body.
•Ensure the highest standards of surgical care and follow best practices in veterinary surgery.
•Conduct thorough pre-surgical examinations and assessments.
•Monitor patients during surgery and post-operatively, providing appropriate pain management and care.
•Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to ensure integrated patient care.
•Stay abreast of advancements in veterinary surgery through continuous learning and professional development.
•Share knowledge and mentor junior veterinary staff.
•Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and a relevant clinical work experience is essential.
•You will have graduated with a Veterinary degree and have good observational and fine motor skills. You will have established skills in medicine and surgery translatable to the species you will be working with and the drive to expand your skillset.
•You will have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, as well as regulatory bodies.
•Previous experience in the laboratory animal field would be advantageous, although full training will be provided
