I have spent the majority of my recruitment career with CDM. Since I joined in 2004 they have developed me from being a recruiter to my current role of Branch Manager for the Construction Management team. The biggest compliment I can give them is their all-around support and general feeling of being part of a family and not just a number. Whether it’s in your personal life, the tough times at work during the recession or even the general highs and lows of recruitment; there is always undivided support given to you to grow and succeed. The autonomy, flexibility and trust we are given in the business are also reasons I enjoy being here. I have always believed you should get out what you put in with recruitment and CDM certainly supports that view as they have always given the right platform for people of all levels to reach their career goals.
I initially met with CDM following the birth of my daughter in 2010 when we discussed the opportunity to work and develop a new division within CDM; from our original meeting and until I joined the business, they kept me informed of the process to ensure the timing of my start, was right for all of us. During this time and since they have given me continuous support especially in the provision to achieve the right work life balance by offering a flexible work pattern. I can now focus on my commitment and passion to further develop the Commercial desk and push the CDM brand across the country whilst caring for my children – giving me the best of both worlds!
I started at CDM as a Business Admin Modern Apprentice in the role of Trainee Payroll & Accounts Clerk, upon completing my apprenticeship to an NVQ 3 level; I was taken on as a permanent member of staff by CDM. Since completing this I spoke with my employers about wanting to gain a formal specialised Payroll qualification, and decided to opt for a Payroll Technician course. I have now been with CDM for nearly 5 years since being 17, and find that I continue to have every opportunity to gain further training and progress my career. The support of all the CDM teams encourages people to constantly progress both personally and professionally, and I have found CDM to be supportive of all the development I have wanted to undertake.
