Job Description

To become a key member of a busy team by delivering the project to the contract drawings in terms of dimensions, depths and size, position vertically using materials that conform with the specification to the expected quality in line with the programme.
This role is a technical, organisational and supervisory role on construction projects, setting out and determining the location for above and underground infrastructural installations.

The Site Engineer will apply designs and mark out the site and can be involved in projects including civil, road, rail and other infrastructure projects. This person will also be part of the site management team working alongside architects, engineers, construction managers, supervisors, planners, surveyors and subcontractors. Generally you will be sharing the responsibility for site security, health and safety, and the organisation and supervision of material.
General Activities for the engineer on site will be:
Setting out and giving dimensional control to the civil engineering operational team
Produce Take offs of all materials and be able to see that they are correct on the requisition

Understand and use software to produce the correct files to upload onto Total Station (creating points from the setting out information gathered on the given drawings, checking the levels contours, ensuring the proper fit of the new works to existing features)
Mark out and identify all services and issuing of permits to work and/or dig
Calibration, condition and certification of surveying equipment – to make sure they are up to standard.

Use of Auto CAD – to be able to deliver as built records and sketches
